Composting

All this waste, we have to ban it, if we want to save our planet!

One of the ways that we have tried to minimise the waste in school is by composting. We purchased two compost bins from Dublin City Council and another one was kindly donated by the Matthews family. Each classroom has a compost tin which is emptied each day. The children compost all their fruit peelings and cores and also their pencil sharpenings along with some wet tissues and the teachers compost their teabags! As compost made purely from fruit wouldn't really be the best, the children are encouraged to bring compost in from home on Fridays.
