Our Play Rota

Every morning the children in Junior and Senior Infants follow their Play Rota. The activities vary greatly and change daily and weekly. They include activities such as bottle tops, writing table, dress up/ home corner, shape patterns, computer, bricks, sand, water, beads, pegs, playdough, blocks, rods, cutting activites and fuzzy felt.

Although the children are playing these activities all have a purpose. They help with manual dexterity (cutting, writing, playdough), oral language development (dress up, water, sand, blocks and bricks), discovery (sand, water, computer), literacy (writing table, dress up, computer, fuzzy felt) and numeracy ( blocks, bricks, shape patterns, pegs, rods, bottle tops).

These activities are so important for all children and so the children love to get into school early to 'play'.

Have a look at some of the children in action and at their wonderful creations!

Please note that the Senior Infant children took most of the photos below!
