5th & 6th Class read the Greek legends of Pluto and Persephone (which explained the seasons), Echo and Narcissus ( which explained echoes and why daffodils bend their heads) and Arachne ( which explained how spiders are able to spin webs). They also read a modern story by Ted Hughes, How the Bee Became, which explains why bees sting and why they gather honey.
